Bio

From a young age, Marco displayed a boundless curiosity for all things music. While specializing in electric guitar as his main instrument, Marco was also classically trained on the violin for over 15 years, an uncommon background that shaped his musical perspective across both popular and classical traditions.

Equally at home on both sides of the recording studio glass, Marco seamlessly moves between laying down guitar overdubs on pop tracks, editing complex minimalist compositions, and mixing in Pro Tools.

His ongoing collaboration with world-renowned session guitarist Tim Pierce (Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Seal, Santana, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins) has led to the development of educational content for the Tim Pierce Masterclass, including the transcription of hundreds of performances into notation and TAB.

Marco has also worked as a music transcriptionist for a wide range of artists and educators, including David Grissom, Allen Hinds, Ramón Stagnaro, Brett Papa, Corey Congilio, RJ Ronquillo, Mark Lettieri, Tom Bukovac, Ariel Posen, Jeff McErlain, Guthrie Trapp, Justin Ostrander, Jack Ruch, Keven Eknes, Robbie Calvo, Kirk Fletcher, Ryan Madora, Marty Schwartz, Erik Krasno, Marcus King, Rhett Shull, Phil X, and many others.

In the field of contemporary classical music, Marco co-produced, recorded, and edited Minimalist Guitar Music by Massimo Menotti, released under Philip Glass’s label Orange Mountain Music.

Over a decade of close collaboration with Latin Grammy-winning drummer Alfredo Golino led Marco to work with many of Italy’s top musicians, including the legendary singer Mina Mazzini on her album Selfie.

Marco was Professor of Rock/Pop Electric Guitar at the Conservatory of Music in Brescia, Italy—though his focus has always been on practical, hands-on musicianship, prioritizing real-world application over academic abstraction.

He is the creator of System 5 Training, a groundbreaking course for internalizing musical scales on the guitar, inspired by the methods athletes use to train both body and mind.

He also released Read, Play, Write, a sight-reading course for experienced guitarists looking to gain fluency in standard notation.

In addition, Marco designed and launched HINTU, a deck of over 100 creative prompt cards aimed at helping guitarists overcome compositional blocks when writing lead parts. The deck has been praised by Brian Eno as "a beautifully produced pack full of good ideas."
